Roof Adjuster Meeting Checklist for DFW Homeowners
An adjuster meeting is a time to provide dated photographs, point out visible conditions, and ask questions about the carrier’s process. The homeowner’s insurer and policy determine coverage, deductible, deadlines, and payment.
Before the Meeting
Gather photographs, temporary-protection receipts, prior inspection information, the claim number, and a list of questions. Do not climb on the roof. A contractor may discuss visible construction observations and repair-scope questions at the homeowner’s request, but should not promise a claim result or act as a public insurance adjuster on work that contractor will perform.
Questions to Ask the Carrier
Ask what information the carrier still needs, when to expect a written estimate or decision, how to submit additional documentation, and which scope items need clarification. Save all written communications.
After the Meeting
Compare the carrier estimate with documented construction conditions, line items, quantities, materials, and scope. Ask the carrier to explain unclear decisions in writing. Avoid permanent repairs before the carrier has an opportunity to inspect unless immediate work is needed to prevent additional damage.
